This week our movement is planning to make history. We are confronting Shell all over the world. Now, with you, we are almost a million people strong. Together we will draw a line in the ice that Shell cannot pass.
Today, from the moment the sun rises in Sydney until it sets in Alaska, people will call every Shell headquarters around the world, voicing their opposition to drilling for oil in the pristine Arctic.
the first step to stop Shell, please take a few moments and go one further.
Call Shell now:
- Shell Canada Swtichboard: 403-691-3111
- Customer Service: 1-800-661-1600
- Community and Aboriginal Affairs: 1-800-250-4355
Here are some suggestions for the kinds of things you might want to say:
“Hello, My name is _____ and I’m phoning about Shell’s plans to drill in the Arctic. I would like to make a formal complaint about Shell’s decision to exploit melting sea ice to drill for more oil. I’m sure that Shell’s employees want to leave a better world to their kids, with ice and polar bears in the Arctic, so they should understand that drilling in the Arctic is a risk we cannot take. Can you explain why Shell is ignoring this in favor of its profit margins?”
After phoning, let us know how Shell responded in the comments on this blog, where you’ll also find more ideas for the call.
Shell’s telephones will ring the whole day. They’ll know our power when we come together with a common goal: “Put the value of life above money, don’t destroy our Arctic”.
Thank you,
